When my mother was five months pregnant with me, my father was told he had cancer.
Two months after I was born, he passed away. He was 35.
My entire life, I’ve had this fear that I would follow in his foot steps to an early grave…
And not have the opportunity to watch my kids grow up and experience the joys of being a father.
And when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 31…
At a time when I was still struggling to resolve all of these other health issues, I thought my fate was destined to be the same. I had a young daughter, and a son on the way…
I remember the day the doctor sat down with me and confirmed I had osteoporosis. Not just a letter in the mail, but actually sat down with me.
Her exact words were, “This is going to be an issue for you.” Bone drugs and fracture were my future.
And I walked out of that office afraid… And for the people who know me well, they know, I’m not typically the most emotional person. And there are very few things that strike fear into my heart… But that did.
When I set foot outside the hospital and sauntered out to my car, my view of the world had changed entirely. Everything was a hazard. The sidewalks, the curbs… even my own vehicle…
I actually carefully sat down in the driver’s seat for the first time in my LIFE, because I was intentionally thinking about trying not to fracture the vertebrae in my spine!
When I got home that night, I was laying on the couch across from my wife. My daughter was upstairs, sleeping. And I looked up and saw my favorite picture of her on the wall.
She was a little over one year old, wearing this cute polka dot dress, standing in front of a white picket fence, blonde hair, blue eyes, innocent and sweet as could be.
And I just broke down crying… I cried HARD. It was the kind of cry that just empties the sum of life’s burdens.
After I was done, I looked over at my wife and said, “I just want to dance with my daughter on her wedding day.” She needed her daddy… and I questioned whether I’d even be alive to be there for her.
I had no idea where to start, and I just wanted to know that everything was going to be okay.
After a great deal of reading and research, trial and error, and getting the RIGHT plan in place… My mindset started to shift…
From those feelings of fear, and overwhelm, and defeat… to determination.

Most of our clients experience positive shifts in their health in just a few short weeks, even before the program is over. At the same time, we have to be very clear that we cannot guarantee a specific DEXA scan outcome in the time it takes to complete our 12-week program. In fact, nobody can! It would be unethical (unfortunately, yes, there are people and companies out there making unethical promises). Bone remodeling is a slow process. It takes at least a year, or sometimes even two, for any meaningful change to show up on DEXA scans, regardless of what course of action you pursue (whether it is medication, lifestyle changes, or a comprehensive approach, such as our program).
However, improvement is absolutely possible! In the Stronger Bones Solution we focus on actionable steps and “leading indicators” that give you the best shot at improvement. To get you crystal-clear on how your leading indicators are doing, we assess them three times in our program. Immediately after you enroll, you will do a Baseline Assessment and receive a Strong Bones Success Score. This numerical score will tell you where you are, what you’re missing, and give you a benchmark for comparison. You will repeat the assessment half-way through the program during week 6 (most members already see an improvement in their Strong Bones Success Score at this point). Then, you will take your final assessment at the end of the 12-week curriculum. Comparing these three scores will tell you how much progress you’ve made and likely improvement to follow. This way, you can move forward with confidence, knowing that your stronger bones efforts are paying off! This is a more near-term outcome that can be objectively measured and is an indicator of slowing, stopping, and preventing more bone loss. Remember, you can’t start going up, until you stop going down.
